42nd session of Odisha History Congress begins

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha History Congress’s 42nd session was started at Fakir Mohan University Balasore on Sunday. The session organised by the department of history and archaeology of the university will be continued on Monday.
Attending as chief guest of the event, Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi said historians and researchers should search for truth and write history on the basis of the data.
University vice-chancellor Santosh Kumar Tripathy said history and historians have played a great role in the development of society and protecting the identity of the region as well as country.
Odisha History Congress president Basanta Kumar Mallick appealed to the students and youths to write history in a new genre. Guests from Jawaharlal Nehru University and faculty members of the organising department spoke in the event.
