aiib: AIIB appoints former RBI guv Urjit Patel as vice-president

NEW DELHI: The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has appointed former governor of RBI, Urjit Patel, as vice-president for south Asia, the Pacific Islands and southeast Asia — succeeding D J Pandian.
Patel has also served as former chair of the governing body of the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, a leading think-tank on fiscal policy and tax matters. He was also executive director and member of the management committee of the Infrastructure Development Finance Company.
Patel has a PhD in economics from Yale University and has extensive experience in both infrastructure and energy sectors.
