College student who topped Class 12 board exam alleges gangrape in Haryana


A 19-year-old college student who was felicitated by the President after she topped the CBSE board exam was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by a group of men in a Haryana district on Wednesday.


The woman was left unconscious at a bus stand in the district.

The second-year college student was on her way to a coaching centre when three men allegedly kidnapped and dragged her to a field, where they raped her.

A few other men who were already at the field also raped her, the police said. The woman said all the men are from her village.

On reaching home she informed her parents about the incident, who took her to a police station.

The women police of Rewari district registered a zero first information report (FIR) against three unidentified youth and sent the FIR to Kanina police for further investigation.

Station house officer (SHO), women police station, Heeramani Devi said, “We received the complaint from the victim, who was taken for medical examination.

After medical examination, we registered a case of gangrape against three youths and sent the zero FIR to Kanina police for further investigation.”
