NEW DELHI: India’s daily Covid cases neared the 3.5 lakh mark by the last count. Daily deaths too have been on an uptick over the last few weeks.
However most of the infections have been mild with lower rates of hospitalisation. No crisis of beds or medical essentials like drugs or Oxygen have been reported from any part of the country.
Some states are moving to relax curbs imposed to contain the current wave of infections.
Daily cases highest since April-May surge
India on Friday logged 3.47 fresh Covid cases, a figure last seen in mid May, when the second wave was in its receding phase after hitting a peak early that month. The number of active cases too have matched the figures last seen in end-May.
However unlike last time, hospitalisations have been relatively low and most patients are reporting milder symptoms. Many of those getting hospitalised in the current phase are reported…
