New Delhi: A 27-year-old Delhi-based woman was allegedly gang-raped by two men in Gurugram on Saturday night. A case has been registered against the unidentified men and the police investigation is underway.
According to a report in the Hindustan Times (HT), the police officials said that the victim in her complaint mentioned that she was waiting for a cab at Iffco Chowk around 1 am to go to her home in Delhi. Then a man called and requested her to meet at the bus stand and he introduced himself as Rashid.
Meanwhile, a few minutes later, three men approached the woman in a white Maruti Swift at Iffco Chowk and offered to drop her at her residence in Azadpur, Delhi. The complainant further mentioned that once she was in the car, the driver drove towards Sector 65, when she objected no one paid heed.
The men then took her to an isolated spot and raped her, the police told HT. The assistant commissioner of police Shamsher Singh told HT, that the victim could not understand where she was taken because she was unfamiliar with the roads. She could also identify the men who raped her and the cab driver had no role in the case, added ACP.
After which the victim saw a PCR van and she naratted her ordeal. The police took her to the Sector 65 police station, where she filed an official complaint against the unidentified men. She was also sent for a medical examination in the Gurugram Civil Hospital on Sunday.
However, a case was registered under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code.
