A hijack scare was triggered at Delhi airport today, when the pilot of an Ariana Afghan Air flight between Delhi and Kandahar pressed the hijack button on the aircraft by mistake. The aircraft was immediately diverted to the isolation bay by the airport security.
The incident took place around 3:30 pm on Saturday just as the aircraft was taxiing for take off. The aircraft had 9 crew members and 124 passengers onboard when the incident took place.
Kandahar bound flight FG-312 was scheduled to depart from Delhi Airport at around 3:45 pm today but aviation security at the airport was alerted after Ariana Afghan Airlines pilot mistakenly pressed the hijack button at Delhi International Airport: CISF Sources
