India reports over 1.1 lakh new Covid cases, 302 deaths; Omicron tally at 3,007 | India News

NEW DELHI: India on Friday reported 1,17,100 new Covid-19 cases, highest since early June, while the active cases rose to 3,71,363, according to the Union health ministry data.

There are 3,007 Omicron cases in India with 23 states reporting the new Covid-19 strain. Maharashtra continues to be the worst-affected state with 876 cases followed by Delhi, which has 465 infections.

The death toll climbed to 4,83,178 with 302 fresh fatalities according to the data updated at 9am.

The active cases comprise 1 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate is at 97.57 per cent, the health ministry said.

30,836 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 3,43,71,845.
