MANILA, Philippines—James De Los Santos’ gold rush isn’t stopping.
The Filipino karateka bagged his 18th international gold medal when he beat Brazil’s Murillo Alves (3-0) in the finals of the Pune Open India Karate e-Tournament Saturday.
This is De Los Santos’ second gold medal after he toppled Portugal’s Eduardo Garcia atop the e-Kata Individual Male Seniors rankings.
As of posting time, De Los Santos has amassed 9,355 points, 780 more than Garcia’s 8,575.
Apart from De Los Santos, his students Fatima Hamsain and Christina Colonia at Maharlika Karatedo Kai of the Philippines International also won bronze medals in the under-15 Female eKata division.
