MANILA, Philippines—University of Santo Tomas secured the commitment of Gilas youth member Jordi Gomez de Liaño ahead of UAA Season 84.
The Varsitarian, the school’s official student publication, reported the development on Thursday.
De Liaño, the younger brother of University of the Philippines’ Juan and Javi, had a solid personal campaign for the Junior Maroons despite the team going 1-13 in Season 82.
The 6-foot-5 forward averaged 13 points with 4.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in his final season with UP Integrated School.
De Liaño was supposed to suit up for Gilas Pilipinas youth in the 2019 Fiba Under-16 Asian Championship in Beirut, Lebanon but that event was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
