MANILA, Philippines—Eduard Folayang suffered his second straight loss, falling to Antonio Caruso via unanimous decision in their lightweight match in ONE: Inside the Matrix Friday at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Struggling against the taller and longer Caruso, Folayang found it difficult to close the distance and was subjected to pinpoint striking from the 5-foot-11 Australian.
Caruso (8-1) drilled Folayang with a cracking right uppercut that sent the Filipino icon to the mat but failed to close the fight from the ground.
Folayang (22-10) managed to connect with his shots come the third round but Caruso found a way to score a takedown in the final seconds of the match.
The loss marked Folayang’s fourth defeat in his last five matches while Caruso got back to the winning column after losing his debut fight in ONE against Pieter Buist in October 2019.
