NEW DELHI: In a move to give a major boost to medical tourism in the country, the government plans to roll out a ‘Heal in India’ programme aimed at rebuilding India’s global image in the medical tourism sector.
Under the initiative, the govenment plans to develop a digital platform which will provide all information about hospitals, treatment procedures offered by them and their prices. The platform will also have options with packages that will include other services like accommodation. “The idea is to ensure transparency for foreign patients who come to India for treatment,” an official said.
Niti Aayog is developing the framework to implement the programme and will finalise it in two months. The plan was discussed in detail during the ‘Chintan Shivir’ organised by health ministry recently, the official said.
