Rahul doesn’t even know names of his own party leaders: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi does not even know the names of his party leaders. 'He referred to late Kumbharam ji as 'Kumbhakaran'- he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took a swipe at Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s slip of tongue in which he had said ‘Kumbakaran Lift Yojana’ instead of ‘Kumbha Ram Lift Yojana’.

Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a poll rally in Jhunjhunu on Tuesday said; “Ashok Gehlot had given some money for the ‘Kumbhakaran Lift Yojana’. Subsequently, someone off the camera apparently nudged him, correcting the real name of the scheme. The Congress President realising the mistake, later stressed on the actual name of the water supply project for irrigation purposes in Jhunjhunu, ‘Kumbha Ram Lift Yojana’.

Earlier, PM Modi also said that it was Congress which created so many divisions in society in the last 70 years. “How can they work in the interest of the people? First, give an account of these 70 years, then ask about 4.5 years from us,” he said. Taking a jibe at Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who he refers to as naamdar, Modi said, “They have already started making excuses, they are trying to find any possible logic so the responsibility of defeat does not lie on naamdar’s shoulders.”

Referring to the extradition of Christian Michel, the alleged middleman in the Rs 3600 crore VVIP chopper scam, PM Modi said that he will now reveal the secrets behind the scam.

Helicopter kaand ke raazdar aur dalal ko sarkar Dubai se pakad ke layi hai. Ab raazdar raaz kholega, pata nahi baat kahan tak jayegi, kitni duur tak jayegi (The government has brought the middleman in helicopter scam. Now he will reveal secrets. Don’t know how far the story will go, where it will go) sic,” he said at the Sumerpur rally.
