NEW DELHI: Accusing the erstwhile communist regime in Tripura of keeping the state backward and focusing instead on politics of violence against its rivals, home minister Amit Shah on Friday said the Biplab Kumar Deb government had made great efforts to bring peace and stability in the state that was now moving towards “development, connectivity, infrastructure and investment”.
“Today, instead of extremism, infiltration, blockades, drugs, arms trafficking, corruption and communal tension, Tripura is moving towards development, connectivity, infrastructure, sports, investment, and promotion of organic farming,” Shah said while addressing a virtual function to mark Tripura’s 50th Statehood Day.
