These are moments to be courageous: PM Modi as Vikram lander loses contact

PM Narendra Modi, after Isro lost contact with Chandrayaan-2’s Vikram lander, told the scientists to be courageous. He also told them that they had his support.

“Life has its ups and downs. What you have achieved is not a small feat,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi pointed out that the scientists’ faces fell after communication was lost with the Vikram lander and said, “We learned a lot from this Moon mission. If communication resumes, it will give us a lot of information.”

PM Modi lauded the Isro scientists and told them to be courageous. “You have made India proud. You have served the world, the humanity and science,” the prime minister said.

“Our journey will continue,” PM Modi added.

In a tweet, PM Modi also said, “India is proud of our scientists! They’ve given their best and have always made India proud. These are moments to be courageous, and courageous we will be! Isro chairman gave updates on Chandrayaan-2. We remain hopeful and will continue working hard on our space programme.”

Isro chief K Sivan confirmed that they had lost contact with Chandrayaan-2’s Vikram lander and said, “Till 2.1 km. it was normal. Lander communication to ground station was lost. Data is being analysed.”
