Thrown out of Rajdhani by TTE, Army jawan loses both legs | India News

BAREILLY: A 29-year-old Army jawan of 24 Rajputana Rifles, Sonu Kumar Singh, lost both his legs and is battling for life at a military hospital after he was allegedly pushed off the Rajdhani express by a TTE at Bareilly station on Thursday. He is yet to regain consciousness and is “critical”, doctors said.
The incident took place at around 9.30am when the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (20503) was leaving the station following a stopover. Sonu, a resident of Balia district, boarded the train in Bareilly and was on his way to Delhi, where he is currently posted.
Ajeet Pratap Singh, in charge of GRP Bareilly, said, “An army jawan suffered grievous injuries after he was pushed by TTE Kupan Bore from the Rajdhani on platform number 2. One of his legs fell under the wheels and got dismembered while his other leg was also crushed and had to be amputated via surgery.”
