The captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli and skipper of England’s football team, Harry Kane met on the sidelines of the iconic Lord’s and had a fun chit-chat as they took some time off from their busy schedules. It is a known fact that Kohli is a massive football fan and follows European football ardently. Even Kane follows cricket and had heaped praise on the swashbuckling Indian batsman back in 2016 for his ability to tackle pressure situations.
The duo had posted selfies with each other when they met ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019 but on Friday, Kohli took to social media platform Instagram and posted a video of the meeting between the two icons of sports.
In the epic conversation, Kane was seen asking Kohli whether he loves football or not, to which the Indian skipper replied, “I love football.” The duo joked on how cricket players play football as a warm-up routine but the footballers never take help of the bat and ball to get their bodies warmed up before a match.
Both Kohli and Kane then rolled their arms and played a bit of cricket together in which the England football team’s captain was seen bowling to Kohli. When the Indian captain was bowling to Kane, Kohli had a good laugh after witnessing Kane’s technique with the bat.
Talking about Kane, the Tottenham Hotspur striker is out on a vacation following a hectic season with both club and country. Kane was central to Spurs’ massive achievement of reaching the final of the UEFA Champions League 2018/19. He ended up being the top-scorer for the London club yet again as he continued to shatter the record books.

For Kohli, the 30-year-old skipper of the Indian team in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019, has been scoring runs regularly with the bat as the Men in Blue are enjoying a stellar campaign in England and Wales. India have already qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing showpiece event and might go on to lock horns with 3rd placed England.
Both England and India were termed as ‘hot favourites’ to lift the coveted trophy and the semi-final match between the two teams will only increase the excitement level among fans. In the round-robin stage, England had defeated India by 31 runs on June 30.
