A Texas divorcée showed that she knew how to go out of a marriage with a bang when she celebrated her divorce being finalized by blowing up her wedding dress.
For 43-year-old Kimberly Santleben-Stiteler, the only way to properly end her 14-year marriage was to blow up her wedding dress in a massive explosion that she was hoping would be felt 15 miles away, and it worked!
The recently-divorced woman celebrated the end to her long relationship by packing her wedding dress full of Tannerite, an explosive material that is used in firearms training. She pulled the trigger to the explosives from a safe distance away and watched as the memory of her happiest day with her former husband was blown to smithereens.
The entire episode was caught on camera and uploaded on Facebook where it now has more than 37,000 views. Santleben-Stiteler’s father and brother-in-law were the ones who planned the elaborate send-off for the wedding dress.

“I was getting rid of stuff from the marriage, and I wanted to have a divorce party and burn the dress. I told my family (mom, dad, two sisters, and brother-in-law), and they thought it was a fabulous idea! My dad and brother-in-law took it to the next level.”

The targets, which were rigged to be set off by a high-velocity bullet, were set up near the dress. Once hit, the targets produced a large vapor cloud as well as a loud booming sound. Exploding targets of this kind are regularly used for shooting practice so that the shooter doesn’t have to walk a long distance to see if they actually hit their mark. In the case of the explosion, people who were within a 15-mile radius definitely knew the target had been hit because of the sound.
One friend commented on the uploaded video: “The blast heard around the county. I heard it from my house.” Another friend commented: “Our walls shook!” A third commented: “I swear…y’all can certainly turn a bad thing into fun! I want to go back and re-evaluate all the lemons dealt me and hire y’all as my party planners!”
